1. Professor Dancealot
In the video "Mr. Dancealot", the author is trying to show what can happen when the learning activities, goals and assessments for a course are not aligned. I don't think the students were given the proper instruction for the course in any way whatsoever. The central message of this video is that just because we may have the technology to help teach does not necessarily mean that is the only way to teach. All of the students look completely baffled as to what the instructor is attempting to teach.


2. Teaching in the 21st Century

In Roberts’s video, he outlines all of the limitless resources that students, as well as the entire world, have at their fingertips. Our world is ever changing technologically and we need to be prepared as educators as to the proper way to teach the next generations how to safely and efficiently use these material. Technology will be used in my future classroom to make learning more fun and understanding. Even though some may not be very computer literate they can still learn easy things to help students in the classroom with technology.


3. Networked Student
I agree that teachers are the ones that show students how to actually create their networks and utilize all of the opportunities afforded by using all of this information. Teachers are to teach the basic things the students would need to know to help them grow. Students will use their own skills and tools learned from the teachers to find the facts and answers to things. Teachers show students how to properly use all of the information that they may gather and what is important as opposed to farce statements or material.



4. Harness Your Students' Digital Smarts
I love how she makes that statement because we do all pull from one another. The teacher is showing that she too could learn from the students made the students that more focused in the lesson. It gave them a sense of empowerment knowing they figured something out that the teacher didn't. Having that feeling will inspire any student to want to learn more. I wish that when I was in school, I had a class like this because her students truly look like they enjoy the class.



5. Who's Ahead in the Learning Race

Since kids are starting at such a young age learning about technology it would only make sense they are ahead. The idea is to help keep her students interested in learning, but also give them a way to have fun while doing it. Her students are doing things in her class that I did not start doing until high school. All these students have the resources to find information quick. When I was growing up, we did not have this option.


6. Flipping the Classroom
This approach really depends on the teacher. Flipping the classroom would benefit not only the teachers, but also the students. Students will be getting the best knowledge they can get and possibly even learn more. Since classroom time would no longer be wasted it is an advantage on the students for growing their own knowledge on things and it helps students better prepared for class, and not as boring for a student since they can be at home. I would definitely use this in my classroom.


7. Bringing the Locker Room into the Classroom
Interaction and collaboration among students and teachers is crucial. We all have different ideas and thoughts and they should be shared to compile one agreed upon conclusion. This will help the students engage with more interest in the classwork and get along with the students among the class.

What about Edm310?

Coming into EDM 310 I was a little nervous. All I had ever heard about the class was how hard it would be, and how the teacher was real rude and that I would never have time for anything else. So, this made me very apprehensive and nervous about taking the course.

When I do something, I never want to do it halfway. I either go all out and all the way or I don't do it at all. I'm a bit OCD and a perfection so that might be my only downfall when it comes to this class.

I have a lot of experience with computer and movie making software. When I was in Elementary school I was in a program called GIFTED, for very bright children. We had a news station we at school called WAES (Andalusia Elementary School) where we produced a morning broadcast show every morning telling about thing that were going on in our school. I really enjoyed doing that being in front of the camera and also editing taping. Although it was a lot of work, once things were done it was well work every minute spent on it.

So, I'm really looking forward to this semester, and getting to brush up on my rusty computer skills.

1. My name is Kristin Evans and I am a junior majoring in Elementary Education. I was born and grew up in small town called Andalusia, Al with my three siblings. I have an older brother who is 26, an older sister who is 24, and a baby brother who is 20. I can remember when I was in Kindergarten and my teacher Mrs.Clifton was going around the room and asking us what we wanted to be when we grew up, and when she finally got to me I told her that I wanted to be a teacher. Little did I know back then that I would really set out to make that become true.


2. I've always wanted to be a teacher. Something about seeing the smile on a child's face when they finally understand what you've been teaching them, or watching the master a skill that they've worked so hard on warms my heart. Being one of the people they look up too for guidance and help with life and everyday problems is so special to me. I tried going the Nursing route, because I thought, "Oh I'll make more money"., but honestly my heart wasn't in it. My heart is being in a classroom and teaching students.


3. As an educator, we are there to teach our students basic things like math, reading, and writing. But we are also there to teach them life long skills. Like how to be kind to one another, that it is always better to tell the truth than a lie, and that everything make not always go your way but you can still make the best of things.
